Our Story

1981

Sheikh Abdullah Ali Alhamrani aspired to facilate the adoption of self-services in banking and set up Alhamrani Universal. Thus the Vision was born

1986

A strategic partnership with the leading self-services and security provider , Diebold was inked which started the ongoing journey spanning more than three decades. This further enhanced the capabitlies of AU to service the banking technology needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

1996

AU through it's partnership with IVI ( International Verifact Inc), the leading ePOS provider in Canada , was the first epayments provider that had its terminals running on Al Waseet (x.25) which boosted multi lane merchants epayments requirements.

1999

To better serve the Self-Services Banking requirements of KSA and the region, AU invested the first and still the only Certified Depot Repair Workshop for Diebold, thereby positively impacting the TAT time for repairs and resolutions.

2007

To further enhance self-services banking offerings, AU partnered with a leading Bank to introduce the first ATM with Bulk Note Acceptance capability, thereby initiating in an era of self-services innovation

2008

Anticipating the advent of the EMV mandate in 2006, AU invested on developing its inhouse capabilities for epayment software application that complies with EMV and SPAN standards. As a result, the first EMV transactions in the Kingdom were performed in an AU provided/developed Hypercom ePOS terminal.

2014

Further supporting the mada initiaitves, AU was the first vendor to develop its epayment application to accept contactless transactions in KSA.

2016

In keeping up with the trends in transaction migration from traditional bank branches, AU worked with the leading retail banking institution to introduced the first Multi Function Banking Kiosks which issued and printed ATM Bank Cards instantaeously.
At this time also, Ateon, the Fintech brand of AU was born to position itself in the Fintech Ecosystem in KSA.

2017

To further improved what is already considered as the most comprehensive support infrastructure in the Kingdom for Self-services and e payments, AU complied with the ISO 9001:2015 Certification. This enhanced its established quality services standards to ensure the highest availability for its ATM, ePos, and Security banking clients network.

2018

In line with the Digitilazation Initiative of the 2030 Vision, AU led the e-payments industry with the certification of its Ingenico Terminals powered with TETRA. With its future proof OS, it makes use of powerful and innovative security mechanisms to bridge secure payment and open web-standard environments. A new experience is within reach for developers, users and final consumers.

2019

AU in partnership with Diebold Nixdorf ( DN) will be launching the latest DN series of SElf-SErvice ATM Solutions which provides the ability to grow with a financial institution’s strategy and deliver the most integrated functionality in the smallest, most secure footprint.
